What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is an ancient healing technique which works on the principle that different points on the feet, ankles and hands (reflex points) correspond with different areas of the body. By working these areas, imbalances are identified and the body's own natural healing process is triggered.
Reflexology is wonderful at promoting relaxation, releasing tension, improving sleep, improving mood and increasing wellbeing.
Reflexology for Menopause
Menopause is a time to Pause and Reframe: Who do you want to be for the next phase of your life and how can you achieve that?
We will delve into the menopause in more detail. Learn about the 5 pillars for a healthy menopause and I'll use focused reflexology techniques aimed at supporting the body through this time of transition.
Maternity Reflexology
Pregnancy is a time of immense change within the body. It can also be an emotional and exhausting time. Maternity reflexology can be a great support to women during each of the 3 trimesters of pregnancy and beyond.
Specialist techniques can help with the common symptoms of pregnancy such as nausea, vomiting and heartburn, constipation, pelvice girdle pain, back ache, anxiety, headaches and fatigue. I also include reflexology routines for preparing for birth, and reflexology for post natal mums to help their recovery.
There are some instances where reflexology wouldn't be recommended such as sudden bleeding or pain and other reflexology contraindications.
Is Reflexology suitable for me?
Yes, the great thing about Reflexology, is it can be received by anyone at any age, from newborn babies to those receiving end of life care, and everyone in between!
What happens during a treatment?
First things first, let me get to know you better. I'll send you a consultation form for you to fill in and we will discuss this before starting any treatment. This is strictly confidential and will help me to know why you are seeking reflexology, what health and lifestyle factors need to be considered and to tailor the treatment to your need.
After we have discussed the consultation, you can sit back, relax and feel the pressure of your day ease. I use a range of relaxation and advanced techniques carefully selected for you. Whilst you relax after the treament, we can discuss how the treatment went and if appropriate I will give you health/lifestyle advice or hand reflexology techniques for you to use at home.
How will I feel afterwards?
Most people feel very relaxed and calm afterwards. You may also experience
- An improvement in your mood
- An increase in feeling of wellbeing
- A release of tension in your body
Anything I need to do afterwards?
Yes drink plenty of water on the day of the treatment and try and rest if possible. IYour body will start to make positive changes, including the release and excretion of waste products. Some people may therefore experience a mild headache, feeling tired, or needing to go to the toilet more often. These are normal reactions and should pass within 24-48 hours.
Frequency of treatments
Reflexology can be enjoyed:

- As a one off treatment such as a birthday present, gift, total destress hour
